Names
Names are always important. Especially when naming you children, as they are something to be passed down.
Except somewhere down the line, my parents hit the weird tree. Or maybe just glanced it. I don't know. But follow this for a bit:
There are 4 boys in our family, but watch the logic here
the oldest(me): Carmen Joseph
Next is: Joseph Francis
Next is: Francis Nicholas
Last is: Nicholas William
I'm all for naming people after someone, but dear parents, could you think, possibly, you could, you know, find a few more names that just 5? And stop rerunning them.
But if that was all, it might be ok. But no, there's more.
My name, Carmen, was suppose to be Carmine, a good old Sicilian name(named for my grandmother, Carmella). But, being from Jersey and all, back in the early 70's, apparently, there's some sort of famous gangster named Carmine, and they didn't want me growing up with a stigma.
Right, except we moved out of jersey when I was 3, and NO ONE ever remembers who the gangster was. To this day, My father calls me carmine on occasion, and even talking to other people he does so.....

So. Wa.
I have to admit I laughed out loud when I read the list. Sorry. But the names by themselves are very handsome names.
I still haven't gotten an answer as to where Carmachu came from. I'm still thinking it's a pet name from the Mrs.
That is funny.
Now I want to know about the "achu" part... big sneezer, are you?
p.s. Jennifer - your blog is rejecting my comments re: names, but I tried to tell you that I'm Jessica Ann for my grandparents Jesse and Ann.
OKay to answer the where the Carmachu came from I can answer that.....years ago when we first got a computer and your sighing up for AOl instant messanger, Carmen needed a screen name.....he couldnt' come up with one so I came up with it for him, at the time pokemon was very popular and I happen to really like Pikachu...so I went with carmachu.
So for the slow people in class *cough* Blessed*cough* its carmen +pikachu =carmachu
I KNEW IT!!! Did I not say that it sounded like a pet name but also like a name from Pokemon in our initial conversation???
Don't call me slow, Carmine! I am on top of things! I missed my calling to be a detective--and also a foot model. Ever since the fire ants attacked, things haven't been the same.
Joy--oops, Jessica, that's cute! I love the name Jesse. It's a family name for us, too. A good southern name. :)
Every time I here the name Carmine I think of Laverne and Shirley.
Does that tell how old I am?
The same age as the rest of us dear LG......at least I'm not named squiggy....
Kate: I guess. Damned if I ever know. My parents never told me who anyway. I assume the gangster was out of Newark, as we were in Kennilworth. Very cool on the letter, BTW.
Blessed: I'll call you whatever i like darling, and you will like it....*grin*
Joy: yup, funny. Now you see where I get that snarky humor. Runs in the family....
We'll even if the names aren't all original, you have to give your parents credit for original thinking when they did that.
I think it's kinda neat.
Kate--I did my junior research paper on the funeral industry. How morbid is that? But I'm very educated about the laws of burial in 1992. And cremation. Know allll about it! Of course everything has changed since then.
Oh well, that was better than what my freshman college research paper was over. Transexuals were big on all the talk shows. It blew me away that someone would want to physically change their gender. So.....I researched the topic and gave my professor a reason to remember me. :) Hee hee!
Unfortunately for me, the internet was not big at the time--at least not at my school. The college (I went to a private Christian school) and town libraries had no magazines or books on the transexual topic, so I had to go to a dirty book store and ask them for info. It was really humiliating...but it ended up being an interesting topic. Better than another paper on the Alamo.
Carm--you better be careful what you call me. After all you've just read about me, there's a good chance I'm twisted enough to like your insults.
I hate to inform you dear blessed, you ARE twisted enough to enjoy my insults.....I'd even hazard a guess that somewhere deep inside you, you kinda got a kick going into dity book store for information.....
I wonder why I don't remember it? My dad made my boyfriend of the time go with me for safety reasons. How weird! I don't even think we were there for 5 minutes. I do remember I called in advance so that I wouldn't have to spend any longer in there than necessary. Weird, weird, weird. I've had a weird life.
Why is your word verification always having something to do with hos or hors? Today my word is khors.
I think it is only JUST for you dear blessed.....
I'm ignoring what you just implied.
Technically speaking LW implied it first.....
Ooooh! I was lost there for a second. She may not get that either.
LW--ask me if you need explanation.
We're never going to let this go are we?
No, it's too funny and too symbolic.
Now I'm so paranoid about the word verifications I'm typing that I'm seeing words that aren't there.
sxbvci
saw sex did you?
Ha ha! So I'm not the only one? I'm not going to tell you what I saw after that.
Oh my gosh! The same 2 letters are showing up in this verification, too!
otbvpo--it doesn't stick out as much to me there since sx didn't preceed it. This letters are like one of those ink blot tests.
comxxwwm
okay, I'm stopping.
That was a good place to stop because I see nothing in
ncnqs.
Now I can go to sleep.
Lots to see in that com one...
I told you!
BTW I'm still trying to figure out about what you mean by my husband's drool, but I'm too scared to approach the subject on my own blog site. Do I really want to know? Sometimes I think I know where you're going with something and it ends up being surprisingly innocent.
You should be. It imply's things we'd get hanged for over there....in case your wondering...
Ohhhhh, I got ya. I thought I knew where that was going. Now I can't remember why it was brought up.
Oh! Baby drool. That was a big leap there, Carm. How do you go from a blog about baby drool to that? You must have received recent complaints yourself.
*rolls eyes*
Shut up, carm. You have easer than you think.
*sticks out tongue*
If I shut up, I lose the fun....
*wipes cat's but on HK's tongue while its out*
I appreciate the work of all people who share information with others.
